Youth shot dead by BSF


Indian Border Security Force (BSF) shot dead a Bangladeshi youth early yesterday at Azmatpur border in Shibganj upazila of Chapainawabganj.
The victim was identified as Durul Huda, 22, son of Jalal Uddin alias Guhu of Azmatpur village.
BSF troops of Swashani camp under 125 BSF Battalion in Pashchimbanga opened fire on Durul around 4:00am while he was returning home with smuggled goods, said Maj Sheikh Mizanur Rahman, acting commanding officer of 9 Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Battalion in Chapainawabganj.
Locals rushed injured Durul to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 10:00am.
The body was sent to the hospital morgue for an autopsy.
Earlier on April 4, BSF members shot dead Ruhul Amin, a cattle trader, at Shingnagar frontier in the same upazila.
