BSF kills two Bangladeshis

Indian border guards have killed two Bangladeshis in Lalmonirhat and Satkhira.

Our Correspondent in Rangpur reports: A Bangladeshi national was shot dead by Border Security Force (BSF) in Burimari frontier area under Patgram upazila in Lalmonirhat district yesterday morning.

Eyewitnesses said, BSF personnel dragged the body of the victim into their territory immediately after the incident.

BDR identified the dead as Mohammed Ali, son of Ismail Hossain of village Kouamari.

A BDR source said, BSF opened fire on Mohammad Ali at about 6:00 am while he was working at a field beside demarcation pillar no: 854. He was hit in the chest and head and died on the spot.

BDR personnel from Srirampur border outpost rushed to the spot and sent a protest letter to BSF, said the source.

UNB from Satkhira said: Habib Gazi, 18, a cattle trader and son of Lutfur Rahman Gazi of Nangla village in Devhata upazila, was

found dead along Basantapur Damdam border in Kaliganj upazila yesterday.

The victim's relatives yesterday noon recovered the body of Habib from a char of the Ichhamati River.

Family sources said, BSF men of Barun camp detained Habib, who went to India to buy cattle four days ago, while he was returning home from India along with cattle.

Locals said, BSF men dumped the body of Habib in the river after killing him. The body bore injury marks.
