BSF killed 43 at Benapole, Sarsha borders in 4 years

Some of them were killed in BSF firing while the rest in torture by the border guard

Members of Indian Border Security Force killed 43 Bangladeshi nationals along the borders of Benapole and Sarsha upazila during the last four years, reports UNB.

Some of them were killed in BSF firing while the rest in torture by the border guards.

Besides, over 400 people were tortured by the Indian border guards during the period, according to Rights Jessore, a local human rights organisation.

Among the victims, Amit and an unidentified youth were killed on January 12,2011 along Gatipara border, Zahid and another unidentified youth were killed along Bedebahadurpur border on January 30, Alauddin was killed along Daulatpur border on January 28, Israfil on Putkhali border on February 1, cattle trader Abdul Alaim was shot dead along Dhannokhola border on June 1, Injin Ali was killed on August 31, Sabuj, Ahmed Ali, Ariful and Saddam were killed on August 9 along Daulatpur frontier.

Besides, Makhan Majnu was shot dead on September 3, Baten along Putkhali border on November 16, Rafiqul Islam was slaughtered along Panchbhulat border on November 30, Arif, Samir and Monir were killed by BSF troops along Daulatpur and Putkhali borders on December 13, 11 and 19 respectively.

Rasheduzzamn was killed on January 21, 2012 along Dhannokhola border, Aklamgir drowned in a water body after being chased by BSF men on September 14 at Daulatpur village, and an unidentified  youth was killed along Kaliani border on July 2 and Joy Shikder was shot dead along Benapole frontier on June 8 in 2012.

On June 12, 2013, Habibur Rahman and Faruq Hossain were shot dead by the Indian border guards at Khedapara in Indian territory.
