Indian Border Security Force (BSF) yesterday shot dead a Bangladeshi girl as she was trying to return home from India through Anantapur border in Kurigram.
The deceased was identified as Felani,
15, daughter of Nur Islam Nuru of Banarvita village under Rumkhana union.
According to BDR and local sources, Nur Islam went to India with his daughter about 10 years ago.
They were entering Bangladesh around 6:00am yesterday.
Although the father crossed the border with the help of a human trafficker BSF personnel at Chowdhurihat border outpost shot the daughter when she was crossing the fence.
She died on the spot.
BDR sources said they will hold a meeting with BSF on the incident.
