The deceased are Nur Islam, 28, and Moktar Dai, 27, of Haripur upazila, said Major Muntasir Mamun Siddique, operations officer of Border Guard Bangladesh, Dinajpur-2.
Around 4:30am, BSF men of Borra camp opened fire on a group of cattle traders, among whom were the two, when they were returning from India with cattle, he added.
Nur Islam and Moktar died there and then. The others escaped unhurt.
BSF members took the bodies immediately, said Muntasir.
